PoliceAuctions.com, now with over 3 million members, was founded in 1999 by
Vortal Group, Inc. In its early days, the site was a simple list of links to government auctions and other
interesting websites. Over the years, the company developed it into the most comprehensive government auction
data available on the Internet, with more listings and more accurate up-to-date government auction data than
any other site on the web.
The company also developed cutting edge web 2.0 streaming technology for its
wholesale $1 auctions, bringing a superior auction experience to its users. These no reserve auctions feature
bids that update real-time, with no need to refresh the page, making for a more exciting and natural auction
environment. This, combined with a toll-free support line and friendly customer service, makes buying through
online auctions fast, easy, and reliable.
Editor's Review:
Another auction site that has a lot of
merchandise to choose from. This site is mainly geared towards personal items such as collectables, jewelry and
memorabilia. It does offer a free search option but is limited to non-government listings. The $1 auctions and
clearance items are a nice addition to this site but bidding on the big ticket items such as cars, boats and real
estate were limited. Overall, PoliceAuctions.com offers many great deals although many of the auctions listed are
live events and do not allow online bidding. However, from our study, this site is not as good as our #1
rated auction site of Auction
Resource.

"I bought a 14K white gold ring with 16 diamonds that was
supposedly worth an estimated $2000. I won the bid for it at $400.
I later went to sell it after a few months, and the most that I could get for it was $25. The
lesson that I have learned is the fact that if you don't know anything about jewelry, stay away
from these type of items. I don't know about the rest of their products, but you will notice that
this site mainly sells jewelry. I was surely pissed off! Scam.com
"We bought a car off of policeauction.com for $600. The blue book on the car was
around $4000. Look forward to buying much more from this great site."
